September

September 25, 2014

John 4:11-14 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?  Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

The small budget for September brought along many challenges, and when the water was shut off, it added greatly to the pressure. The local water distributor did not pay their power bill, which led to all the homes in the area losing their water supply. Friday, as the Uzima staff gathered for prayers, our water reserves were almost dry. We prayed together as a staff asking God for another miracle.

The word “uzima” means life in Swahili, and, just as the expression says, “water is life”. We know that Jesus is our everlasting life. He is everything to this ministry. We know that this ministry is from Him, through Him, and for Him.

When finished praying, we returned to our duties. The taps were turned, and the water flowed freely. We don’t know why the water was turned back on; we just knew that God was listening.

During this month of September, we received less than half our budget, and daily we are looking for God to once again carry us through.

Please join us in praising Jehovah, believing He will do it. Only He will be glorified in this.

Please pray for wisdom for the leadership.

Thank God with us for His faithfulness.

Pray for family members of staff going through difficult times.

Pray for the need to relocate to a larger location for the children.

Pray for the adult side of the ministry – that more clients would come into the program, and know the saving grace of Jesus.
