As you are aware, a couple of months ago we were notified that all children’s homes must be registered as CCI’s (Charitable Children’s Institution) by the end of June. Certain standards were put in place by the government for acquiring this certification so all homes would be of the highest quality.
These new regulations are ultimately a good thing as they are in the best interest of children. However, very little has been done by the various associated government agencies to achieve these goals by the deadline. Therefore, many homes throughout Kenya have not been able register in such a short time ultimately leading to the much larger problem of leaving countless children without proper homes. The subsequent result is the deadline officially being pushed back to the end of the year.
As for us, we are blessed in that we’ve been working hard to meet all the standards and this month we began the process of inspections. Without doubt our productivity has been made possible by your faithful prayers and financial support.
We consider ourselves blessed to be a part of the Lord’s work at Uzima. We thank you for your partnership together with us in advancing the Kingdom.
