Inspection Update and February Analysis of Expenditures

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3-6

In last months newsletter we wrote to you about the upcoming inspection of our children’s home. It was indeed a very important matter, as this committee from the local children’s department has the power to advise and even (worst case scenario) close homes.

The committee of eight people, all representing different areas of expertise, conducted the inspection on February 26th. As they walked through the property with our staff and leadership, they asked many questions. Finally, we gathered in the all-purpose room to answer their final questions as they inspected our documentation.

By the end of the inspection, the committee seemed generally pleased with the environment, files, nutrition, health, fire prevention, schooling, staffing, and administrative structure. As they left, they all seemed favorable and supportive of the work taking place at Uzima Children’s Home.

Now, the committee will gather to write their final report to be submitted to the government. At this point they will also notify us of any areas of possible improvement. Finally we hope that they approve us as a Charitable Children’s Institution – the highest possible standard.

We want to say a big thank you to everyone for your prayers during this time. If we work solely in our own might, we will certainly fail. We know that there is always a spiritual battle taking place. We believe the Lord’s favor has been upon this ministry from the beginning, and it is He who will carry us forward that we may continue on. Uzima Outreach is in the Lord’s hands, and there’s no better place to be.
