Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6: 25-27

First of all, we praise God for you, the prayer partners. We continually see God’s hand at work, and we are so grateful to be called to this.

Last Saturday we held our first Pastors Workshop in Kawangware slum. The purpose of the workshop was to help meet the vision of our ministry to involve the local church. We were pleased to see nine pastors from the area attend. We briefed them on what the vision of Uzima Outreach is, and discussed what their partnerships would entail. We pray that nine pastors catching the vision will mean nine churches catching the vision. Please pray that God will use this time to call these pastors (and others in the future) to join the fight in rescuing addicts out of despair and into the hope and love of our living Savior.

Towards the beginning of the month we were feeling discouraged as with our physical eyes it didn’t look possible to meet the budget for April. Once again the Lord confirmed in our hearts this is His ministry and He will provide. After the Lord answered our prayers for Uzima Outreach to become a 501c3 non-profit in the States, God called individuals to donate towards the pressing needs. We are thanking God for this answer to prayer, and for Him teaching us more how to trust Him.

We continue to advance in our model of business as mission at the rehab by training our men how to make sandals and bracelets. This trains the men in ways to potentially support themselves after graduating. It also is a way to fund raise to help meet the budget. Please pray for other such creative ways to train them in the future, and pray God opens doors for business opportunities for the men seeking to pursue careers after graduation.
