New Additions to the Children's Home!
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
We thank God for the favor he has given us since relocating the children’s home to Busia County. The local Children’s Department has been working with us to rescue more children from dire situations. In the last three months we have admitted four more girls, and we are delighted to introduce them to you.
"S" is 9 years old, and for the couple months she’s been at our home she is always smiling - she seems to really like it here. We are learning early that she is quite intelligent, as she continues to improve in school. We are sure "S" has a bright future.
"L" is a 6 year old who was rescued from the streets of Kawangware slum. We began the process of obtaining custody before relocating our orphanage from Nairobi. By admitting her into our home, she has been reunited with her older brother. Initially she looked sickly and malnourished, but we thank God she is now fit as a fiddle.
"J" is 11 years old. She did not have a home, as her grandmother was not well enough to take care of her. "J" is naturally charming, so she’s been making lots of new friends in the home and at school. This young lady is fitting right in, and she’s a joy to be around.
"Y" is 6 years old. She is an orphan that was initially rescued from the streets by the Busia police. There was no place for her so she was actually kept at the police station. She is the newest member of the Uzima family, and we are welcoming her with loving arms.
We now have two greenhouses on our land in Busia and have prepared seedlings. The produce will provide added nutrition to the children's diets as well as revenue to assist with the monthly expenses. We are so grateful and excited to begin this new addition to the children's home program.
Pray for the new children entering our home.
Pray for our 3 seniors who will graduate high school in November.
Our outreach team and rehabilitation program are still going strong in Nairobi. Please remember to lift them up in your prayers.
Please pray for the ongoing development of our Busia property, as we hope to raise the funds for dormitory construction.
