Update From Our Outreach Team
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Romans 10:14-15
Outreach to the women has started and God has been faithful. Our team has been walking alongside three ladies who were/are heroin addicts. Two of them have children and this has been a very big motivating factor behind wanting to start a new life, free from addiction. Our team placed them each on different reduction programs and they have responded very well- praise God for that. We have been working with them for just over a month now and one has been clean for five days already. The others are making their way to freedom too and we would really appreciate your prayers in that regard.
One of the biggest issues they faced was unemployment and not having anything to do during the day which would subsequently lead them back to the drug den daily, so we had to find a solution for that. We were able to help them start a tea and mandazi (doughnut) business which allows them to make an income and also keeps them busy throughout the day so it takes their minds away from the drugs.
There have been a few unforeseen challenges along the way but God's grace has been sufficient. The ladies are grateful to have people who care for them and are motivating them in their walk to freedom. We give God the glory and we thank Him for this opportunity to serve these ladies.
Please join us in lifting up these ladies and their children
