Uzima Outreach Update

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness." Jeremiah 31:3

Last week we were blessed to have a team from AAEC church come and volunteer for a week. They had a wonderful time at Uzima Children’s Home, playing and sharing with the young ones. Later in the week they joined us at the Drop-In Center and on prison outreach to share their personal testimonies. It’s awesome to see God bring people from all around the world to work together for His Kingdom.

Last month we shared about our need to take in some young children from a nearby home that is struggling to meet the needs of the children. We want to thank you for praying for them and donating in order for us to buy more bunkbeds and mattresses. The paperwork is being finalized and they should be joining our home this month. Their ages are 3, 4 and 5. It was important they come to Uzima because they will be reunited with their siblings. We thank the Lord for this opportunity and for making a way.

Daniel has been in the rehabilitation program for some time. He’s been sober for two months and he recently rededicated his life to Jesus. Following each session, he takes the scriptures we study back home with him to study further with his wife. He has also been meeting with another client in the program to encourage one another.

Current financial needs:

Last month we shared some financial needs that have come up in the last few months. We are elated to share of God’s provision for the needed beds/mattresses, curtains/fittings/frames for the whole house and the remaining 2019 school fees balance! Thank you all for helping us meet these important needs!

The remaining needs in order to renew our license as a CCI (Charitable Children’s Institution) are as follows:

[if !supportLists]➢ [endif]Refill our fire extinguishers, a fire assembly place sign and fire blankets at a cost of $500

[if !supportLists]➢ [endif]The kitchen needs electricity at a cost of $400, smoke outlet and plastering for $300, more cutlery, buckets and portable cooking stoves at a cost of $550

[if !supportLists]➢ [endif]Inside the dormitory we need storage cabinets and lockers for $3,583

[if !supportLists]➢ [endif]Windows above all the interior door frames for $300

Please consider “sponsoring” one of the items above. Once all the needs are met, we will be able to move forward with the CCI licensing process.

When making a donation, please indicate which item you would like your gift applied towards. Thank you in advance for your support – every gift, big or small, makes a difference!

Prayer Request:

  • Several of the clients in the rehabilitation program are doing well. We are entertaining the idea of opening up a second phase of the program to offer employment or small loans to deserving clients. Would you please pray with us about this endeavor.

  • Please pray for the new children entering our home to have a smooth transition.

  • Pray for Daniel and his family to continue to grow in their faith and make good choices.

  • Pray with us for provision for the current needs.

  • And join us in thanksgiving prayers for the global Uzima Outreach family.
