But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:8,9

Michael loves local and international politics. He even hopes to someday be a politician to fight corruption head-on. His passion for this prompted us to encourage him to improve in his grades and ultimately run for a School Office.

With excitement he took on the challenge studying hard to improve his grades. Then, at the end of the 2019 School year, the time came for the students to vote for next year’s primary school class representatives. Michael decided he wanted to run for the highest position, School Captain. This position comes with the greatest set of responsibilities as well, but he did not shy away. We are so pleased to share with you that Michael won the election! Truly, the Lord has done marvelous things with this young man. We’ve been blessed to witness God transform him from his earlier stages of rebellion to where he is now. Even within the Uzima Home he is a wonderful example and bright light of hope to the younger children. We thank God for this special young man!

Currently the children are all on holiday awaiting the new school year to begin in January. Would you please consider donating towards the 2020 school fees? Your support and prayers make it possible for Michael and the other 38 children in the home to further their studies.

When Anthony entered the Uzima Rehabilitation Program we were a little skeptical of the outcome. HIs body had become weak from years of alcohol abuse and many in the local community had written him off as yet another casualty of addiction.

Even though we have been doing this work for many years, God still reminds us that there is hope for all. Today we celebrate Anthony’s life as he nears four months alcohol free. He has put his faith in Jesus and embraced the promises of God. All clients who achieve three months of sobriety receive their own bible, and Anthony did not waist time to share from the Word what he’s been learning to others in the community.

We have learned not to focus on the problem of addiction but on the hope of the salvation. God is faithful and we praise His glorious name!
