I am the vine you are the branches
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Greetings to all from Uzima Outreach! With all schools remaining closed due to Covid-19, we have done our best to adapt in all facets of the ministry, and we have seen God’s sovereign grace through all of it. We want to thank you for your faithful support throughout this challenging season, and update you on how things are going here in Kenya.
As Mary, Michael and Monica have grown into later years of childhood, we have been blessed to see their spiritual growth as well. God is using them in a mighty way. Michael is a natural leader to the other children in the home, and now we’ve seen him also become a leader in intercessory prayer. In our home bible study times, we always encourage the children to share from the Word, and in the last year we’ve seen both Monica and Mary grow in their knowledge of God’s Word and their ability to share with the other children.
This young man, Kevin is one of our brightest students. Before schools closed, he was the top students in his class. Now that we tutor from home, we continue to see him thrive academically and fully embrace homeschool.
His older brother, Geoffrey has made great improvements academically since entering our home. When he first entered Uzima he could barely read or write due to the neglect he faced in his previous environment. Today he can read and write despite the fact he missed early childhood education, and we know in the Lord he will have a bright future.
Lavender was in a similar situation of neglect, but since joining Uzima we’ve seen wonderful improvement. Her grades have greatly improved and her behavior as well. We are grateful to the Lord for her and blessed to watch her grow.
Thank the Lord with us for His wonderful grace through this trying time.
Join us in prayers of thanksgiving for the health and well-being of all the children of Uzima.
Continue to lift up the rehabilitation program as well in prayers. Those within the program who have been sponsored with small business are doing well, and those who have been facing hardships, we’ve been able to bring food supplies.
We hope to build a chicken project at the children’s home soon. Please pray for provision, and God’s blessing to be upon it.
And pray for wisdom for the leadership during this season.
