For, “Yet a little while,
and the coming one will come and will not delay;
but my righteous one shall live by faith,
and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.”
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
Hebrews 10: 35-39
The school year in Kenya typically begins in January with the third and final term ending in early November. However, when Covid-19 hit Kenya in March the Ministry of Education closed all schools. Now in September, they have announced schools will open back up next month in what will be the beginning of the second term. This unfortunately gives us very little time to prepare for the great financial cost of putting 38 children back in school.
We know our Lord is faithful and He will make a way. We are grateful the children have their required uniforms and school supplies, but we need help in raising funds for the school fees required to get them back into the classroom. Your faithful support is greatly appreciated!
Asante sana! (Thank you very much!)
Christian came to Uzima when he could barely read or write, but since joining he has highly improved. He does arithmetic which is beyond his level/class and is showing great signs of improvement in reading as well.
Since we hired an ECD (Early childhood Development) teacher, Yvonne was able to receive one-on-one lessons in reading and writing and she has shown tremendous improvement.
Felix is a very smart boy. He excels in mathematics and reading. He reads English quite well and calculates arithmetic beyond his level.
As for Kelvin, who is meant to be in Pre primary 1 (pre- school), he tackles classwork which is beyond his level. He is always at the top of his class.
Thank God with us for protecting the children, staff and clients from the virus.
Please join us in praying for school fees provision.
Thank God with us for the staff of Uzima Outreach faithfully serving to the best of their abilities.
Please continue to lift up the rehabilitation program in prayers. This season has been challenging, but we have seen God’s faithfulness as many have remained sober, and those who have started businesses are continuing on well.
