Greetings From Uzima Outreach

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they set it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

People in the community in and around the rehabilitation drop-in center have seen a change. They have seen with their own eyes spiritual, physical, and relational transformation. The power of the gospel has become self-evident to the community, and they are drawn to that hope.

Now, we are pleased to see that it’s those whose lives have changed that are now bringing in new people to the program. With great excitement we have witnessed our numbers grow over the last couple weeks, and we are eager to play our part in His work. Please be praying with us for these new clients, that they too will find salvation and restoration.

Years back the Lord placed it on the hearts of supporters to bless the children in the home with several different musical instruments. Since then, it has been our pleasure to watch the children develop musically. Any child who shows interest in learning an instrument we gladly teach. As of today, several of the children can play multiple instruments and sing quite well. When it comes time for our daily service, it’s the children who lead worship.

For us as the staff it is really a joy to see how this skill provides so much more for them. Besides the obvious that it's fun and enjoyable, music and the arts actually help teach children with structure and discipline. For a couple of the children who struggled more behaviorally, we have seen great positive change through this healthy outlet. We thank God for this as we sing and dance alongside them! Thank you for helping to make this possible for them.
